PERL Engaged Citizens Constituency Influence Story No.5 - Local Government in Nigeria - July 2024

This story sets out PERL's long-running support to constitutional and practical reform of Nigeria's local government tier, from advocacy coalitions pressing for autonomy bills through to the July 2024 Supreme Court ruling, alongside state-level reforms in Kaduna, Kano and Jigawa that have strengthened citizen oversight of local budgets and services.
