Embedding Political Economy Analysis in the People Powering Biodiversity Initiative

The Policy Practice has been commissioned by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) International to embed political economy analysis in their People Powering Biodiversity (PPB) initiative, a global programme delivering community-led conservation in five mega-biodiverse countries. As PPB enters its reflection phase, the assignment will conduct light-touch, participatory political economy analyses (PEAs) in three of its contexts (Tanzania, Papua New Guinea and Tunisia) to understand what has enabled or constrained locally led conservation and what lessons should shape future programming.

Led by TPP Director Gareth Williams, and supported by both international and local consultants, the team will deliver three country PEA reports; a cross-country synthesis and recommendations report to inform the design of PPB's second phase; a public-facing learning resource for practitioners; and a WWF-wide dissemination webinar.
