Yemen Economic Recovery Plan

The Policy Practice is supporting the Economic Team of the internationally-recognised government in Aden, Yemen, in developing an economic rescue plan for Yemen. The work is being funded by the OECD under the EU-OECD Project on Promoting Economic Resilience in Yemen.

After former President Hadi stepped down in April 2022, the Presidential Leadership Council was established in lieu of the role of the president. Its Economic Team provides economic advice and supports effort to bolster Yemen’s economic performance. The Economic Team is currently focused on developing an economic rescue plan that incorporates a holistic reform agenda for the country, taking into account the ongoing civil war in Yemen since 2014 and on-and-off peace process negotiations led by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen.
